Architecture Sans Frontières-UK (ASF-UK) invites you to VULNERABILITY AND RISK: THE ROLE OF GREEN TECHNOLOGY, a workshop in India, in 2010.
ASF-UK trains built environment students and professionals to be more relevant to the international development sector. BUILDING COMMUNITIES BRAZIL ____ re-visiting Salvador da Bahia
Salvador da Bahia, Brazil
29th March - 10th April 2010 (provisional dates)
The Building Communities workshop in Brazil has been developed by ASF-UK with Dr. Alex Frediani from the Development Planning Unit, University College London. The workshop aims to build on the 2009 ‘Building Communities- Salvador da Bahia, Brazil’ programme. The 2009 workshop looked at different strategies for the process of housing the urban poor, including a state government run project, a NGO run project and the occupations of the social movement group Movimento dos Sem Teto da Bahia (MSTB), and assessing their impacts in the process of building communities. The 2010 workshop will revisit the occupations of the MSTB where participants will engage with stakeholders at an institutional level, grassroots level and with the wider community to explore and support further community initiatives, partnerships and action planning to address the housing needs of the urban poor of Salvador da Bahia.
Application forms are downloadable from the ASF-UK website www.asf-uk.org/workshops.htm and notification of acceptance will be sent to participants within a week of receipt and assessment of applications.
