DAIRY FARM IN KHOVSGOL


The aim of the project is to build and establish a Dairy facility owned by an association of milk farmers in the area of Khatgal. The aim is to improve the local milk farmer’s possibility to produce milk products of a high quality that can be sold to a third party.

WHAT

Dairy facility and cooperative that increases milk farmer’s productivity, sales and revenue. Currently there is a lack of improved production and storage facilities which means that the milk farmers can only sell their products in a short seasonally. By establishing a dairy facility the farmers can increase both their productivity and their revenue, thereby reducing poverty among farmers.

DEVELOPMENT TARGETS
  • To prevent and reduce poverty among traditional milk farmers by better processing and marketing possibilities.
  • To ensure that the higher value of processed milk benefits the farmers through a cooperatively owned dairy facility.
  • To increase the knowledge level in the cooperative by educating local dairy farmers.
ARCHITECTURE

So far the project has focused on increasing local capacity by helping to establish a dairy cooperative and educating local dairy farmers. Only when the necessary requirements are met for a sustainable dairy facility will the project enter its building phase.
